My Wikiing Experience

Our current task is creating a wiki page. We have been assigned to create a wikii page and review a book that we lately read. I chose a book called Warcross. This book was recommended to me from a friend of mine. The novel focuses on 18-year-old Emika Chen, who after losing her father and being expelled from her school, turns to Warcross -a game that you acces via technological glasses- to escape from her difficulties. To make a living, she works as a bounty hunter -an individual who tracks down criminals related to Warcross such as gambling. I really liked this task because it made me go over a book that i read i liked by doing a review of it. I do not find writing a review difficult because I think I'm used to it. I always used to review something. I would definetly use wikis in the future with my own students because it shows the power of collabration and a task like this, reminds students the importance of reading books in your daily life. Changing The World Podcast

Today my task is creating a podcast about "how i would change the world" within 60 seconds and share it here on my blog. First it made me think that it is too short to be a podcast but there are a lot of students and listening all of them would be so hard for our teacher.  I was very stressed out while thinking about the things i was going to write but i dealt with it. I researched about the problems the world faces then I started to record it via my iphone. The hardest part for me was not knowing how i can embed my podcast to the blog. I asked few of my friends and finally i was able to make it.  I think this is very beneficial task for the students because I learned managing my time and expressing my words clearly. It can help students think critically and focus on what is important. So i would give this task to my students for sure.  Oğuz Kaleş · Changing The World Podcast

21st Century Learning

21st century learning is very important for me as a future teacher because it is the current way of learning. It focuses on personalization, equality, communication, collaboration and technology. Our lives today are so infused with the technology that it is crucial to teach students how to interact with the abundance of information they got and students should be creater rather than consumers. Collabration is also very important. Students must be demonstrate an ability to work in diverse teams and assume shared responsibility for the work. Working with group members also leads to work creatively with the others. While brainstorming together, students learn to not only create new ideas, but also elaborate upon, analyze and eveluate them.
